How Much Storage Do You Need?

There are many things to consider when picking your next smartphone, and storage is one of the most important. Without enough storage, you simply won't be able to get the best out of your device.
So in this article, I will help you determine how much internal storage you need on your next device. This is crucial because it stops you from overspending on space that you don't need and prevents you from getting a phone that doesn't have enough space for you.

32GB

In today's world, 32GB of storage space is just not enough space for anyone. The world has moved past the 32GB minimum storage option, as apps and other things now take a lot more space.
There are only very few niche situations I can think of that 32GB of space would be enough. Even if you are in one of those niche situations, the best thing to do is to get yourself a device with at least 64GB of storage space. After all, having extra storage that you don't need is better than having less storage than you need.

64GB

In today's world, 64GB should be the minimum storage option for any phone and would be an ideal storage option for most people. If you are the type who downloads a moderate amount of movies, plays some games, browses, takes a reasonable amount of pictures and videos, et cetera, then 64GB should be enough space for you.

If you are the type that plays a lot of graphic-intensive mobile games that take up lots of storage, a 64GB device would be just okay but, I would only recommend it if you are on a tight budget.

128 GB

128GB is standard for phones nowadays. For most people, 128GB is more than enough, and they would never have to worry about storage again. The people who absolutely need 128GB of storage are gamers who want to have every popular game like PUBG Mobile, Call Of Duty, Fortnite, etc on their device without it running out of space to download resources. And for people who want to capture every moment by taking tons of pictures and videos. 128GB should be just enough for most people in the picture-taking category, while it might be too small for some as photos and videos take a lot of space.

256GB AND ABOVE

256GB and above is overkill for most people. Only a select few actually need this much  storage space. People like professional photographers are one of the few sets of smartphone users who actually need that much space.

256GB might not even be enough because now phones are capable of shooting 4k and 8k videos. Shooting 4k videos take around 300-400 MB per minute, while three hours plus of 8k videos will fill up 128GB. So, to a professional photographer or people who use their cameras a lot, 256GB might not be able to cover their needsI

Hope this has helped you decide which storage option is perfect for you. There's always cloud storage to help save and backup files, but it's easier to access if it's on your device.
